Hi! I’m Doris, a food journalist and chef from Hong Kong and Vancouver. I’m currently living in Bologna.
Welcome to Dozi Creative, my portfolio and creative platform.
A writer by trade, I’ve been writing for the last ten years, with work featured on ABC News and published in Huffington Post, VICE, Channel News Asia, South China Morning Post, Tatler Asia, Hong Kong Tourism Board, Hong Kong Airlines and more.
Outside of writing, food is my true love. My passion for food has led me to pursue a year-long culinary apprenticeship in the Lake District, UK where I worked as a commis chef and attended college. I graduated in October 2024, and I’m excited to continue combining my two passions.
In March 2025, I moved to Italy to pursue my dream of living in the country where food is celebrated—and appreciated—the most.
I’m currently spending my days planning events for Be My Amico, a platform that connects people in real life through creative and food-centred events; testing recipes that excite me; and writing food articles.
Be My Amico
I moved to Bologna, Italy, after falling in love with the city.
Be My Amico is a community I formed where I connect food-loving creatives in the city through in-real-life events.
From cookbook clubs, weekend Cappuccino & Walks, to doodling sessions.
Blog
I’m bringing blog posts back! When did they go out of style? Food and life musings on the places I visited, people I met, dishes I ate and feelings I felt.
01 Eating Brains
in Lyon
In exploration of Lyon, France’s culinary capital, and my encounter with brown butter calf brains. Creamy, buttery and… squeaky? Bon appetit.
02 The Urgency of Scones
I’m ashamed to admit the absolute grip scones had over my mood when I worked in the kitchen.
